HealthGenius - Health Tracking App Concept | Process

A health-focused app concept emphasizing user flow, accessibility, and clear interactions, developed through wireframing and user-centered thinking.

Design Opportunity

Create an intuituve, human-centered app concept that motivates & aids college students in maintaining their physical and mental health.

User / Context

College Students

  • Those who struggle to maintain mental & physical health alongside schooling

  • Those who benefit from structure

  • Those who can’t afford professional help

Concept exploration

Early Concept Ideation

Asking ourselves questions as a team:

  • What do users need help with?

  • What aspects of physical & mental health should we focus on?

  • How can we use metaphors & conceptual mapping to create an intuitive user experience?

Early Conceptual Model

Organizing the app interface as simply as possible, considering user needs and desires.

Decision Making

Early Wireframe Ideation

Beginning to design an app-layout based on our conceptual model that will

  • Provide a variety of functions without overwhelming the user

  • Motivate the user with gamification

  • Reduce user frustration & stress by aiding them in taking control of their health

Final Outcome

Final Wireframe Prototype

The result is a human-centered app prototype. The interface is friendly and gamified, making the experience fun and easy.

The app does all the hard work, providing the user with an intuitive, stress-free solution to organizing and taking care of their personal & mental health.

Project Reflection

What I Learned

  • How to design with the User in mind

  • How collaborative teamwork benefits design outcomes

  • Human-Computer Interaction principles & how to implement them

Project Constraints

  • 3 week time frame - alongside other projects

  • Working around team schedules & availability

  • Division of labor - assigned to specific duties

If I had more time, I would…

  • Conduct low-risk user research to inform ideation

  • Conduct user testing & gather feedback

  • Continue to ideate and test to develop prototypes that further address user needs & desires
